Scope

Final software-repository pass before archival/maintenance mode on the post-freeze line.

This PR deliberately leaves empirical main and the frozen v8 physical-validation authority untouched.

Presentation and engagement

• replaces the dense legacy README with a concise, visual project front door;
• adds a direct live-experience CTA, workflow/license badges, the STRIKE → REVEAL → HEAR → PLAY → SHARE loop, a system diagram, capability maturity map, repository map, quick-start commands, research architecture, privacy boundary, and documentation index;
• clearly separates the live frozen empirical application from post-freeze research/software capabilities;
• keeps Sonic Twin, material, spatial, and Atlas claims within their currently earned maturity.

Final consistency cleanup

• aligns root package metadata and contribution guidance with the repository's MIT license;
• refreshes the claim registry for multi-source derivation provenance, Atlas V2 semantics, research-corpus governance, and the local Atlas client/API foundation;
• refreshes the release checklist so it reflects the active rulesets and the Atlas API/client that now exist.

Defect found in the last pass

The merged Atlas conformance workflow was failing before any job started because its job-level condition used a context that is not valid there. The underlying Atlas packages were covered by the main/full-vision suites, but the dedicated lane itself was unusable.

This PR removes that invalid conditional and makes Atlas client/API typecheck + tests the actual conformance gate. A successful report remains explicitly scoped to local software contracts and records publicNetworkQualified: false.

Claim boundary

No empirical thresholds, acquisition semantics, er-dsp-2, evidence schemas, frozen Gate A/B/C contracts, or physical evidence are changed. No software result in this PR is presented as physical-object identity, material identity, microphone validation, human-perceptual validation, or public-network qualification.

The dedicated Atlas lane had failed with zero jobs on the preceding merged revision; this PR repairs the workflow and proves that the Atlas client/API contract suite now executes successfully. Digital-twin qualification is path-filtered for PRs and will run on the resulting post-freeze-development push after merge.
