Admittedly, at first I was a bit skeptical if this would be a topic with a lot to talk about, but the more I think about it the more interesting things I can think of! JSON is a pretty simple encoding, but there’s a lot of subtleties. Like security issues that arise from just throwing it in a <script> tag, hacks to deal with things like lack of comments, potential successors like JSON5, or integrating with languages other than JavaScript.
