Short summary
The Copilot app continuously sets the _NET_WM_STATE_DEMANDS_ATTENTION X11/Wayland window state, causing the taskbar icon to highlight repeatedly in KDE Plasma even when there are no new replies, sessions, or notifications.
Affected version or release
v1.1.10
Installation context
- OS: Linux (Bazzite, KDE Plasma 6.7.3) - App: GitHub Copilot installed as AppImage
What happened?
The Copilot app continuously sets the _NET_WM_STATE_DEMANDS_ATTENTION X11/Wayland window state, causing the taskbar icon to highlight repeatedly in KDE Plasma even when there are no new replies, sessions, or notifications.
Closing and then reopening the app seems to have worked around the issue, but there seems to be an underlying issue somewhere.
Steps to reproduce
xprop -spy -id $(xdotool search --name Copilot | head -1) | grep -E "(DEMANDS|URGENT|ATTENTION)"
Expected behavior
_NET_WM_STATE_DEMANDS_ATTENTION should only be set when there's actual new activity (messages, session completions, etc.)
Additional context
