Meeting Agenda Notes

We did not have a meeting agenda ahead of time. So, this is what we talked about:

• Unable to render KV store params in actions when RBAC is enabled st2#5934
  • bugfix/ISSUE-5934-fix-rbac-kv-value-render st2#5936
• @bishopbm1 & team want to work on closing old Issues. Just post a quick description of why when closing, and we can reopen things if needed.
• SSO/SAML:
  • Awesome set of PRs we need to review:
    • SSO/SAML support st2#5625
    • Implementing SSO/SAML login :) st2#5664
    • Feat/saml st2web#983
    • Implementing SAML integration with st2 st2-auth-backend-sso-saml2#16
    • adding sso / saml support st2-docker#246
  • Jacob noted that CI is woefully out-of-date in st2-auth-backend-sso-saml2 and needs an overhaul
  • Several TSC members would like to see the auth backend repos merged with the primary ST2 repo, but it would be better to fix CI and merge the SSO/SAML work first before attempting that migration. Also, @cognifloyd does not want to add significantly more to the st2 repo before pants integration is complete.
• Pants migration status
  • Essentially all of the pants PoC branch has been merged!
  • Open PRs:
    • Was waiting for 1 review, now merged: Pants: reclassify test utils in BUILD metadata (part 2) st2#5931
    • This one was blocked by an issue with setup.py in our library repos: Upgrade pants from 2.15 to 2.16.0a0 st2#5932
      • Clean up setup.py st2-rbac-backend#70
      • Clean up setup.py st2-auth-backend-flat-file#10
      • Clean up setup.py st2-auth-ldap#110
    • These also have the setup.py issue, but they are not blocking progress on the pants migration. Also, CI needs to be updated for several of them:
      • Clean up setup.py st2-auth-backend-keystone#6
      • Clean up setup.py st2-auth-backend-mongodb#4
      • Clean up setup.py st2-auth-backend-pam#19
      • Clean up setup.py st2-auth-backend-sso-saml2#17 (CI config Is out-of-date)
      • Clean up setup.py st2-auth-backend-vault#10 (CI config Is out-of-date)
    • Next steps:
      • Write mini How-To with links to the pants docs about building the wheels to play with them.
      • Regenerate the st2 lockfile in Upgrade pants from 2.15 to 2.16.0a0 st2#5932 to make sure that is working and then mark it ready for review
      • Build virtualenv with pants and get the Makefile to use that in running tests.
• Python updates are waiting on the pants migration to be complete.
