Enterprise AI Strategy & Acceptable Use Policy

1.0 Vision & Strategic Principles

1.1 Our Vision

To leverage Artificial Intelligence to accelerate innovation, enhance decision-making, and create unprecedented value for our customers, while upholding the highest standards of safety, ethics, and operational integrity. We do not view AI as merely a tool, but as a transformative capability that must be governed with foresight and precision.

1.2 Our Guiding Principles

  1. Safety First, Always: The safety of our customers, employees, and the public is paramount. No AI system will be deployed if it presents an unacceptable level of risk.
  2. Compliance by Design: Regulatory compliance is not an afterthought; it is a core design requirement. Our AI systems will be built from the ground up to be compliant with all relevant global regulations (EU AI Act, GDPR, NIST AI RMF, etc.).
  3. Verifiable Governance: We will move beyond trust-based audits to a model of continuous, cryptographic verification. The operational state of our AI governance will be provably secure and aligned with this policy at all times.
  4. Human-in-Command: For all high-risk applications, a human will retain ultimate control and decision-making authority. We will augment, not replace, human oversight.

2.0 Scope

This policy applies to:

  • All employees, contractors, and third parties.
  • All development, procurement, and deployment of AI/ML systems.
  • All data used to train or operate AI/ML systems.
  • The use of all third-party AI services and APIs.

3.0 Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This AUP defines the non-negotiable rules for all AI activities within the enterprise.

3.1 Prohibited Uses

The following uses are strictly forbidden under all circumstances:

  • Developing or deploying any AI system intended to function as a weapon.
  • Any application that infringes on fundamental human rights.
  • Uses that are intended to deceive, manipulate, or defraud customers or the public.
  • Any AI application that violates existing laws or regulations.

3.2 Restricted Uses (Requires AI Governance Committee Approval)

The following high-risk uses require a formal risk assessment and explicit, written approval from the AI Governance Committee. All such systems must be integrated with and monitored by the Omni-Sentinel stack.

  • AI systems that make fully autonomous decisions in critical infrastructure management (e.g., energy grid, logistics).
  • AI systems involved in high-stakes financial transactions or credit scoring.
  • AI applications in hiring, personnel management, or surveillance.
  • Generative AI applications that produce content for public distribution under the company's brand.

3.3 Permitted Uses

All other uses are generally permitted, provided they adhere to the Guiding Principles and all other company policies. Examples include:

  • Internal process automation and workflow optimization.
  • Data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Software development assistance and code generation.

4.0 Governance & Enforcement

  • The AI Governance Committee (AIGC): This cross-functional body is the ultimate authority for interpreting and granting exceptions to this policy.
  • The Omni-Sentinel Stack: This policy is not just a document; it is the blueprint for the automated rules engine of our enterprise. The OPA/Rego policies implemented in the Omni-Sentinel stack are the technical enforcement of this AUP. An AI system that attempts to violate this policy will have its actions automatically blocked by the Sentinel Mesh.
  • Violation: Any violation of this policy by an employee will be treated as a serious disciplinary matter, up to and including termination of employment. Any AI system found to be operating in violation will be immediately isolated and contained by the Supervisory Control Plane (SCP).
