should single colons be allowed in bank names?

The following ALERT bank names use single colons:

ALERT::ai:projections
ALERT::ai:prepid
ALERT::ai:prepid
ALERT::ai:prepid

Single colons should be fine, but some downstream code may assume double colons (::) everywhere, for example the HIPO dataframe code

Should we change to double colons?

Seems to me that bank names with single colons are no better or worse than ones with double colons, and that hipo-cpp software stayed safe by only manipulating double colons?
